Long Division Method
Long division is a technique used to break down large numbers into manageable steps, simplifying the division process into a series of sequential steps. It is widely employed as the primary method for solving division problems.
- Step 1: Begin by taking the leftmost digit of the dividend (237). Verify if this digit is greater than or equal to the divisor (80).
- Step 2: Divide this digit by the divisor and record the quotient above.
- Step 3: Subtract the product of the division from the original digit and note the difference below.
- Step 4: If there are additional digits in the dividend, bring down the next one.
- Step 5: Repeat the same process.
